People often say that faith and science are at war. This is not accurate. It’s the same false equivalency that keeps getting peddled.
Faith is what a person believes to be accurate and trustworthy but cannot necessarily prove by testing. Usually it is used in a religious context.
Science is the tool used to study aspects of the physical universe. The scientific method is the foundation of science as we know it. It is the way we determine if something is repeatable and therefore confirmed as a guiding principle in our universe.
So how can a tool like science be at war with a belief like faith?
It can’t, it doesn’t make sense. In essence it makes the argument that there is only the physical universe. Which is of course what humanism promotes.
This idea forces one to move into the realm of faith.
How strange and mysterious that one can travel between these two realms so easily.
